Privacy Policy for Vivida Frame

Effective date: September 25, 2026

Overview

Vivida Frame is developed by Lmedo Labs, LLC (“we”, “us”). The app turns an Android tablet or phone into a dedicated digital photo frame. It has no user accounts, no ads, and no analytics, and we operate no servers: everything the app stores stays on your device, except data you choose to fetch through the third-party services below.

Information the app accesses and why

  • Cloud photos (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive). If you connect a cloud provider, the app lists and downloads only the photos in the folders you choose, to display your slideshow. It requests the narrowest read-only permissions each provider offers (Google Drive: read-only; Dropbox: file metadata and content read; OneDrive: file read). Cloud photos are cached on your device so playback continues offline.
  • On-device photos. If you play from the local gallery, the app reads photos from the albums you select. Local photos are read directly from your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
  • Sign-in tokens. When you sign in to a cloud provider, the app receives standard OAuth tokens. Tokens are kept in encrypted on-device storage, are sent only to the provider that issued them, and are never shared with us or anyone else.
  • Approximate location (optional). If you enable the weather widget and grant location permission, the app uses your coarse (approximate) location to fetch the local weather forecast. You can instead enter a city manually, or decline and the widget will show only previously cached weather. Location is sent only to our weather data provider (see below) and is never stored by us.
  • Purchases. The one-time license purchase is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment details.
  • Settings, schedule, and backups. Your slideshow settings, daily schedule, and any backup file you export are stored on your device (or wherever you save the backup). Backups never include sign-in tokens.
  • Diagnostics. The app writes technical logs to the on-device system log for troubleshooting. It contains no crash-reporting or analytics SDKs; nothing is transmitted to us.

Third-party services

When you use the corresponding features, the app communicates directly with these providers. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies:

Sharing

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data leaves your device only when you use a feature that requires it: fetching your photos from a cloud provider you connected, fetching weather for your area, or completing a purchase through Google Play.

Retention and deletion

Because we operate no servers or accounts, we hold no copy of your data to retain or delete. Everything on your device is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. To revoke the app's access to a cloud provider, disconnect it in the app or remove its access in that provider's account settings (Google, Dropbox, or Microsoft).

Security

Sign-in tokens are kept in encrypted on-device storage, network traffic uses encrypted connections, and cloud access is limited to read-only scopes. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app is designed to minimize what could be exposed: your photos and tokens never pass through our systems, because there are none.

Children

Vivida Frame is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app has no accounts or data collection of its own, any information a child accessed through the app would remain on that device; a parent or guardian can remove it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above.
